The Transhipment Warehouse owned by the Canal & River Trust, Whaleybridge is a much loved local attraction. The building is used by the community for markets and other activities.
We were given the project of renewing leadwork to the roof as well as replacing slates and roof lights externally. Internally we made repairs to several rotten roof trusses.
Structural scaffolding was erected for us to gain access and also to support the roof trusses while work was ongoing. The rotten timber was removed and new sections spliced in with rods and special adhesive.
On the roof the old leadwork was removed and damaged and missing slates replaced with new, along with new roof lights.
The work now completed will allow the building to live on for many years to come.
